Items disappearing from inventory?
Yesterday I was trying to make some progress on the "An Old Guy and the Ocean" quest, getting my ass kicked by various fishies left and right. I log in today to go back for more, and I find I have no Little bitty bathysphere in my inventory. Has this happened to anyone else (either this item or others)? It can't be traded or discarded, so I know I didn't accidentally sell it, or trade it to my other account or my clan. Ideas? |

LiveJournal Major Notes: Notes, Tweaks, Bug Kills, LJ_Cares!
Notes augmented
We've enhanced and de-bugged Notes. If you haven't tried it yet, now's the time! You can create a private note when you ban multiple users. You can also delete multiple notes at once. Lastly, paid users have the option to add a note (visible only to you) whenever you add or remove a friend (guaranteed to avoid embarrassing social mishaps). If you don't currently have a paid account, you can upgrade now! It only takes a few minutes and costs less than a bad shopping mall haircut (plus, it's way more fashionable)!
Product tweaks and bug kill
- In another effort to zap spam, comments containing links from domains LiveJournal deems untrustworthy are now automatically screened
- If you sign up to get notifications of the Writer's Block question of the day, you'll now see the daily question in the email notification, so you'll have a little extra time to ponder before you post. You can subscribe to Writers Block notifications here
- The issue causing random comments to vanish has been fixed!
- If you visit a LiveJournal page and get prompted to log in, you'll be returned to the same page after you sign in (Thanks, Dreamwidth)!
- If you don't edit the timestamp for an entry at all, the entry timestamp will indicate the time the entry was posted instead of the time the Update Journal page was loaded
- Comments with paddings/backgrounds render correctly within the comment box (and will no longer wrap outside the box and break frames/margins)
New FCK fixes rich text editor!
- We've updated our RTE (Rich Text Editor) to FCKeditor version 2.6.5
- When switching from the RTE to HTML editor, links for syndicated feeds are no longer broken
- RTE now functions properly in Safari 4.0
- An extra line/space will not be auto-inserted whenever you switch from RTE to HTML editor
- The insert image link now works correctly in all browsers

EDIT@08:16 UTC/GMT. Wow. That was ugly. I expected it to go for 30 minutes and have maybe 1 minute of broken connectivity. Instead it lasted over 4 hours and we had 10 minutes of downtime directly related to the load balancer upgrades and then another 5-10 minutes of downtime when our primary Pingback database server crashed and the secondary couldn't take over; which could have been indirectly caused by the network upgrade missing a self-VIP. Anyways, we're up, we're working, the load balancers are barely breaking a sweat right now and I need some food and a shot of whiskey. I don't even *like* whiskey!! Thanks ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) mhwest and dnewhall for helping out! --- On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice. Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials. We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait! As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work. |

This LJ Post Is Bewerldering!
Threw a couple of videos online. The first involves KROOOOOOZE telling us precisely how Yu-Gi-Oh ended, from the point of view of someone who's never seen a single full episode of the show. He does a good job, actually. The second is me dramatically reading a random fanfic with Mary Sues, half-naked Yugis, and a solid Yami separate from Yugi's body. Gotta love it, huh? Just to put aside some concerns, I contacted the author before making the video and made doubly certain it wouldn't be a problem if I poked fun at their fic. And yes, bad art is intentionally bad. How're you guys doing? Don't forget we've got a Twitter now, which I check/update frequently. Getting quite a few calls from random animé conventions begging me to appear as a guest... Um... Hello (^.^ ) Really sorry about my going awol... again. You see I got the blue screen this weekend. You know I've never literally seen the actual blue screen but lol yeah... I get why it's called that ( >.>) So I spent the weekend loading my os to a new hard drive. Thankfully all my important stuff is housed on two other hard drives(^.^ ) so a small victory for me. You know I have to say the most tedious part of rebooting a computer is reinstalling all those security updates *hides in a corner* so painfully tedious ( -.-)lol. I even had to have someone babysit the computer so I could go to work (-.- ) Weird asking someone to do that... lol Anyway I hope that THIS time I have had my quota of disastrous type things happen for the year *crossing fingers* I will be responding and posting tonight (^.^ ) Again really sorry. |

I had forgotten that when I read it and unlike the tragedy in kano miyamoto's series the tragedy in boys love lacked that catharsis or cleansing of emotion that i think good angst has. Its still a great example of a lot of yaoi cliches. Net comics was my favorite publisher last month. Not only did they have a good showing at yaoi con but I enjoyed ever manga they brought with them including some of the comedies they are releasing this month. I highly recommend getting Love Full of Scars it was hilarious. But any of the releases they had this month aren't the traditional pretty boy art styles. But if you want a taste of something different you really have to try it! Yaoicon, there was only 1 actual dealer panel and it was DMPs. It was short but informative. There are picking up kizuna along with the tyrant series. So is this official proof drama queen is dead if they have lost their licensing? And they are really pushing their emanga service that allows you to rent/purchase manga on your computer that can only be viewed through their program. They licensed a bunch of harlequin manga for it and said some of the less popular/ experimental yaoi authors may go straight to emanga and only get a print version releases if enough emanga versions are sold to show interest. It was also said the reason close the last door 2 was pushed back in the release schedual is 1 just didn't sell well enough. Yugi yamada doesn't have the star power in America i guess. I think over all i was disappointed by that but i understand the business sense. I met yayoi neko at con who is one of the few american yaoi bara artists I can think of. She is doing a simply amazing doujinshi based on sherlock holmes so if you like bara try to track her down. S volume 4 is available for a premium price at akadot retail. So go now if you want to grab one of the few copies available for this out of print conclusion. I'm thinking of doing postings of reviews on this months releases throughout the month. Is that something anyone would be interested in?
I'm also looking to hire someone who has at least an hour a month and is into yaoi anime to make a comprehensive list of the yaoi animes that are out in japan and an upcoming list, they would also have to keep a list up of the licensed yaoi animes currently available in English. Episodes 43 & 44
Hey people! I completely forgot to mention, and a lot of you likely haven't seen them - due to my own idiocy - but Episodes 43 and 44 of my series are now online! Episode 43 - Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless MaiEpisode 44 - Ishizu Explains It AllI spent probably over a month working on these, trying to nail both the gags and the editing. I'm peripherally aware that there's one or two people suggesting these episodes prove that I'm no longer interested in making this show, and I have to say I'm baffled by that reaction. Unless they're responding to Ishizu's rant about the show's declining quality and the catchphrases, which is purely done for comedic effect. These went down really well at Youmacon too. That's the first time I've screened new episodes live, and the audience were laughing SO much. They both got huge standing ovations too, it was insane. I had no clue how to respond. Hope you like them too. Also, Team Four Star have put their Bardock special up at their official TFS site in which I debut as Freeza. Yep. Freeza. I love playing the villains. I celebrated by uploading my audition for the role. Team Four Star went so far as to announce me as an official member of their group at Youmacon, so yeah. A glorious merger indeed!
