Damnit Jim, I'm a doctor... hmm well kindof?
Watched 24 episodes of Mushishi. I like the series, but it doesn't try to break new grounds, fairly standard non-standard fare. I do love the main character to death (though why in gods name does he look like a SD Seras), but too many of the episodes feel like "Star Trek: The Next Generation". Either the character solves his Mushi problems with techobabble or they're used as a plot device to explore the human psyche etc, etc. This show is all about it's character interactions and it does do well there. Ginko is cool, and the extras are believable in a quiet subtle way. Still the episode where the moral was "treat first encounters cautiously”... ack goddammit stop channeling Spock already!
Harumi, I'm sorry but watching a crappy home movie/anime parody with MST3K is not fun. Nor is it an insightful critique on Japanese anime when it's nothing more then pointing out plot inconsistencies that any TV viewer with a brain would notice. Unless one wants to go and say MST3K parodies of Star Trek or 80s actions movies are insightful/deep look into American Sci-Fi and Films respectively.
